About
The Royal House of Mourning is an interactive new media Islamic geometric art installation recently showcased at the Utopian Dystopia exhibition in Kochi. This installation was inspired by the beautiful baadshahi Ashoorkhana in Hyderabad.
Through this installation, we sought to create an immersive and contemplative space for visitors to engage with Islamic geometric art's rich history and cultural traditions. Using new media design and technology, we brought to life the intricate patterns and designs that adorn the walls and ceilings of the Baadshahi Ashoorkhana.
Around 40,000 visitors moved through the installation, interacting with the art and watching as it came to life, creating an ever-evolving and dynamic display of Islamic geometric patterns.
